Hi!
If you are one of those girls who dream about the day when research proves just by saying the word "gym" you lose 20 pounds- Then here is my Hi-5 to you! You are so like me! :-)
I honestly hate working out in a quite little gym room and its after effects like sore feet, sweaty hair, sticky face! Eeks I can just go on.   But on the other hand, my growing belly is definitely something I hate to see. All my dresses look so awkward in the middle when everything else about the dress is just so perfect! So I decided I got to work out but something has to motivate me to do it.  Good company, a running partner would have been just as good. But unfortunately, my running time does not match with my friends and  we don't live too close to meet for our running sessions. I thought music is something I love and I used to listen to my favorite albums back in India as I used to drive quite a bit between home and work. Since then, I have literally  not had my music time to sit back and enjoy it all by myself . So I downloaded some fast paced peppy songs for my work out time ( I noticed fast paced songs kind of has an effect on the speed at which I jog/walk :P). This has really helped me run for a longer time than usual and gives me an opportunity  to enjoy  my favorite music with no interruption. I also feel running in open is better than in the gym a) because its Free! b) You can feel some evening breeze swaying past your face! yes, its very refreshing and also because in the open  you get to enjoy the nature and do some bird watching as you run! :) I love watching birds and clicking away pictures of sky during sunset as I run. I do take it easy, I don't force myself to run if I don't feel like it, I rather do a fast paced  walk and then jog as and when I feel comfortable. I take small sips of water when I feel  thirsty that also helps me feel rejuvenated and  keep up the pace.  Right now I jog for about 2 miles each day. For some one like me who absolutely hates running, this definitely is an encouraging start!  I hope to  slowly but surely increase the distance and speed  , we' ll see! :)
